Why does the registration checker show the wrong tyre size?
Our registration checker relies on data from a third party based on the size of the tyre that was fitted as standard. Sometimes, the tyre size may have been changed by a dealership or previous owner. In this case, we recommend checking your vehicle's handbook to get the correct size.
Why does the registration checker show different options on tyre size?
In some instances, vehicles may have different tyre sizes on the front and rear of the car.

What is the difference between wheel alignment and balancing?
Wheel alignment and wheel balancing maintain a vehicle's performance and safety.
Wheel alignment involves adjusting the angles of the wheels so that they are parallel to each other and perpendicular to the ground. This helps ensure the vehicle drives straight, has good handling and steering, and tyres wear evenly.
On the other hand, wheel balancing involves adding weights to the wheel's rim to counteract any imbalances. Uneven tyre wear, manufacturing defects, or other factors can cause imbalances. Wheel balancing helps to eliminate vibrations and ensure a smooth driving experience.
Do I need a Wheel Alignment?
Typical signs to look out for maybe your car pulling in either direction when driving (no matter how slight). Uneven tyre wear on any part of your tyres.
Who fits my tyres?
Our carefully selected fitting partners will fit your tyres.
Do you offer tyre rotation?
Unfortunately, we do not provide tyre rotation. Please ask the fitting centre directly about this. There might be an additional charge for this service applied by the fitting centre.
Are your tyres new?
Yes, all Shoes For My Car tyres are supplied and fitted new.
How do I know if I need new tyres?
- Low tread depth: If your tyre tread depth is less than 1.6mm (the legal limit).
- Visible damage: If you see any cuts or cracks on the sidewalls of your tyres. This damage can weaken the tyre and make it more prone to a blowout.
- Vibration or shaking: If you feel vibrations or shaking while driving, it could be a sign that your tyre is out of balance.
- Age: Tyres can wear out over time, even if not used frequently. Most manufacturers recommend replacing tyres every six years, regardless of the tread depth.
- Poor handling or reduced grip: If your car is not handling as well as it used to, or if you have less traction on wet or slippery roads, it may be a sign that your tyres are worn out.
